IRM

I have always been somewhat enchanted by Charlotte Gainsbourg, with her beautiful, serene voice, her easy poise, and her nonchalant style. I suppose that sort of effortless cool and beauty might be a benefit of being able to call Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg Ma and Pa, no? I have been patiently awaiting the release of her newest album, IRM, produced by Beck (who also composed and cowrote the lyrics) which finally comes out tomorrow! Beck and Charlotte Gainsbourg??? Um...yes, please. The album title is based on the many MRIs (IRM is the French acronym for magnetic resonance imaging) she has had to endure since her surgery for a cerebral hemorrhage following a water-skiing accident in 2007. My favorite tracks are Heaven Can Wait, IRM, and Dandelion. Enjoy, ma cheries.
